BISHOP SHANE T. GASKINS
Bishop Gaskins, a native of Newark, New Jersey has been extremely committed to the Bridgeport, Connecticut community since attending the University of Bridgeport in 1974. While attending the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut he successfully completed both a Bachelors and Master of Science Degree from the College of Business Administration. He also holds a Associate of Theology Degree from Christian Life School of Theology in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Upon completing his graduate studies Bishop Shane met his wife Angela George Gaskins who is a native of Harlem, New York. Angela completed her Bachelors Degree from Hunter College in New York and Her Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport. They have two sons Christopher and Joshua.
Bishop Shane was licensed to preach in 1985 at Miracle Temple Church in Norwalk, Connecticut and became the Associate Minister of Christ Temple in Bridgeport, Connecticut from 1986-1987. On January 12, 1988, instead of celebrating Angela’s birthday they assembled together with a small group of people for a home fellowship which is now Jesus Saves Ministries Church. As co-founder and Senior Pastor of Jesus Saves Ministries Church, Bishop Shane resigned from the City of Bridgeport Board of Education in 1993 to Pastor full time. Today Jesus Saves Ministries Church has ownership of properties located on the East End of Bridgeport. JSM is a holistic church that ministers to the spiritual, physical, financial and mental well being of a person’s life. A community based church that assists and influences the educational, social and business institutions of our community while helping to care for the poor and needy. Bishop Shane is also founder and CEO of JSM Development Corp. which is the non-profit outreach entity of the ministry.
Memberships include: (IMA) or the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Bridgeport, Connecticut and National Religious Affairs Association which is an Affiliate of National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice located in Washington, DC.
He was appointed as Bishop in July 2007, is a member of the Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops and is a member of New Day Fellowship under the leadership of Bishop Thomas E. Wallace, Presiding Prelate New Day Fellowship.
