Instead of celebrating Angela’s birthday, they celebrated the birth of a soul (spirit) which was more important than the natural birth. At 7:30 that  evening, they began to worship in prayer and song, followed by the Word of God.

Evening bible studies was birthed on that day, which led to evening bible studies every Tuesdays. Miraculously, God began to open doors for their ministry to go forth by faith.

After a number of introductions ,they were able to move the bible studies out of their home and into a conference room at First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.

God moved miraculously again when another minister asked Pastor Shane to conduct services at the Joy Center , where the Majestic and Poli Theater was located in downtown Bridgeport.

Shortly thereafter , regular Sunday services were held at the same center.  The Pastor  over at First Baptist Church also made provisions for them to hold their services – that included bible studies, Sunday Services, Special Events, AND Youth Activities at their church, where they remained for the next ten years.

Having attended a small local church here in Bridgeport, the birth of Jesus Saves Ministries became evident in Shane’s Spirit.

He knew God called him, ever since he was a young boy. He was prompted to go and make disciples of men. Prior to this, Shane taught in the Bridgeport school as a librarian and a Media Specialist. He received his education from the University of Bridgeport where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Studies in 1978.

He also received his Masters Degree in Science as a Media Specialist in 1980; and his Associate in Theology  from Christian Life School of Theology in 1996.

After commuting back and forth to New York, as  a Junior Accountant Executive for a Cable Network, Angela was called to minister for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Upon completion of her studies in Science and Early Childhood Education, she received her Masters Degree of Science in Elementary and early Childhood Education from the University of Bridgeport in 1994.

On January 12, 1988 both Pastor Shane and Pastor Angela began fellowship service at their home, which was located on 532 Brewster Street in Bridgeport.

God's word is true

Habakkuk was once faced with the opportunity of waiting for an answer.  He is shown that he must wait for faith. For the vision is yet for appointed time but at the end it shall speak, and not lie, though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.  Hab.2:3-KJV

Thank God for the many examples He has given us to learn from; concerning waiting . From Job to our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is our  example, and he is also the author and finisher of faith. In our lesson , God has been so gracious and faithful to Jesus Saves Ministries Church that- He has allowed yet another portion of our vision to come to fruition.  This being our new facilities ( Church building and parsonage located on Wilmot and Connecticut Avenue).

God has given us a large worldwide vision because we are commanded to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always.

These new facilities will help to aid Jesus Saves Ministries Church in the expansion and facilitation of our mission for kingdom building . We must  continue to wait with expectancy and continue and stand on the promises of God, it will surely come to pass. We are further commanded from the Lord to make sure that it is  his kingdom that must continue to grow and not ours.

We are charged to enlarge our house, build an addition; spread out our  homes! For we will soon be bursting at the seams. Our descendants will take over other nations and live in their cities.
